Janet Elaine Callis Fisher, age 75, of Bedford, Kentucky entered this life on November 10, 1948 in LaGrange, Kentucky. She was adopted as a newborn by James Thomas and Ella Jean Adams Callis. Janet passed from this life on Thursday, February 29, 2024, at 7:35 p.m. surrounded by her family at the Norton King’s Daughters’ Hospital in Madison, Indiana.

Janet will be missed by her loving daughters, Michelle Callis and her husband, Ronnie of Bedford, KY; Melissa Enstrom and her fiancée, Joe Robak of Hanover, IN; Melinda Fisher of Louisville, KY; her loving grandchildren, David Miles Joslin, Samantha Callis, and Ian Enstrom; her brothers, Terry McDowell of Madison, IN; Larry Callis and his wife, Kim of Frankfort, KY; her aunts, Ninetta Adams Thompson of Pendleton, KY; Martha Adams Duschscherer and her husband, Richard of New Castle, KY; as well as several cousins, nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Callis, and Ella Jean McDowell; her step father, Johnnie McDowell; her maternal grandparents, John Willard Adams, and Mary Elizabeth King Adams; her sibling, infant James Edward Callis, infant Delora Jean Callis, Joy Renea McDowell Decker, and Gary Leon Callis; her grand niece, Annie Laine McDowell, and her son in law, Jan Richard Enstrom.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, March 8, 2024, at 11 a.m., by Pastor Mark Payton at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana. Private Interment will follow later in the Bedford Cemetery in Bedford, Kentucky.

Friends may visit Thursday, March 7, 2024 from 4-7 p.m. and Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre.
